Guide through biological and cultural diversity of national Park Djerdap – July 6

“Guide through biological and cultural diversity of National Park Đerdap” was the project supported through MATRA KNIP program of the Embassy. Closing event took place on July 6 in Botanical garden. At that occasion the Guide- as the main output of the project was presented as well as the main caracteristics of NP Djerdap. “Guide through biological and cultural diversity of National Park Đerdap” is publication mainly aimed to improve public awareness on natural and cultural values in the Đerdap region. This guide is dedicated to different target groups including tourists, local communities, students, pupils, professors and everyone else interested in protection of biodiversity and nature. Content of the Guide are presented in three main parts. First part vecontains general information on characteristics of the National Park Đerdap (location, relief, climate and protection status), cultural and historical heritage of the Park territory, costumes and believes of local population, social and economic characteristics, touristic manifestations and perspectives for development of eco tourism.

The second part refers to biological diversity of the National Park. Biological diversity of more than 100 species of plants, animals and fungi are described in a popular manner with rich illustrations. Species are presented systematically in following groups: fungi, vascular flora, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Detailed register of all species described in the Guide is presented in its very end.

The third and last part of the Guide contains annexes, namely dictionary of expert terms, literature and information about Ecological Society Endemit.
